Tensile Optimum Cycle Components is a wholly owned subsidiary company of the Super Cycles Group based in Nottingham. Tensile is a Registered Trade Mark established in all parts of the world. It is used exclusively on cycle components in which the group has some sort of design input or intellectual property rights. In other words, this is not badge engineering or off the shelf product, so you won't see them anywhere else. Where possible there is usually some patent or registered design to protect the products from copy's and fakes .
The group has now also made a major investment in a range of high quality, professional hubs, featuring only sealed industrial standard bearings. The initial range has been well received and the range will soon be further extended. Watch this space. They also have strong ties with Araya Rims, Spokes and Nipples and will be offering a range of complete wheels shortly in a joint venture.
The family owned business shows a combined lifespan of over 100 years in the bicycle business,
and the portfolio of products is growing steadily.
The group has a sound basis in the sport and pastime of  Bicycle Trials, and so, many of its components are particularly applicable to that sport, but certainly not exclusively so.

• Their Freewheels are now legendary with the Design Registered removal system. Two versions, one with 60 pick-up points which is suitable for the heavier duty street scene. The other is a 96 pick up point version for the competition rider, which also features a white hard nickel plate outer ring.

• The patented Tensile off-centre Magura brake mounts give much bigger scope for fitting the wide rims favoured by current trials riders.

• The Tensile Headset features smooth running and tough ceramic bearings, carbon fibre top cap and titanium bolt.

• The Tensile double jockey wheel single speed Chain Tensioner has alloy jockey wheels and comes in two lengths for variable sprocket sizes.

• The Urban Legend cranks set new standards for stiffness and have been established for almost ten years.

• The 99 Handlebars are the newest addition and feature 7075 super strong but light, triple butted tubing.
